Projection mapping,

Known as video mapping and augmented reality. This projection tech used to turn large objects,
often odd shaped, into a display for video projection. These objects may be complex industrial landscapes, such as buildings, indoor objects or stages.

Using special software, a 2d or 3d object is spatially mapped on the virtual program which mimics the real environment it is to be projected on.
Software can interact with a projector to fit any desired image onto the surface of that object.
The technique is often used by visual artists and advertisers who can add extra dimension, visual illusions, and movement onto static objects.
The video is commonly combined with audio to create an audio-visual show.
The best video mapping is all pre made in 3d on the virtual version of the object to be projected on.
